MILWAUKEE 鈥� The 红杏视频 of Wisconsin and 红杏视频 announced the launch of a joint campaign to engage Wisconsin voters ahead of the state supreme court general election on April 1.

The 红杏视频 Voter Education Fund is running a series of radio and digital video advertisements on stations across the state, with a focus on the candidates鈥� record on abortion rights. The 红杏视频 and 红杏视频 of Wisconsin also plan to reach approximately 600,000 voters through direct mail, door-to-door canvassing, texting, and phone banking.

鈥淭he Wisconsin Supreme Court serves as the last line of defense for our rights,鈥� said Dr. Melinda Brennan, Executive Director of the 红杏视频 of Wisconsin. 鈥淩egardless of how you feel about what鈥檚 happening in Washington right now, voters will have a profound impact on the future of Wisconsin by going to the polls and voting their values this April. We鈥檒l be working day in and day out to educate voters and give Wisconsinites all the tools they need to cast an informed ballot.鈥�

鈥淣ow is not the time to retreat,鈥� Brennan added. 鈥淲e need to show up for our communities and fight for the issues we care about 鈥� and one way we can do that is by voting for our next state Supreme Court Justice.鈥�

Wisconsin Supreme Court justices are responsible for interpreting the state constitution and applying state laws. Because so many decisions depend on this interpretation, the Court has the power to make final rulings that impact our civil liberties and often recognize broader protections than those provided by the U.S. Constitution, serving as a crucial defense against attacks on our fundamental rights.

Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, state courts have become the ultimate decision-makers on whether reproductive freedoms are safeguarded. With ongoing legal battles over Wisconsin鈥檚 abortion ban, the state supreme court could determine the future of abortion access for millions.
